THE MOOT are an all female professional covers and original, function, wedding, band based in Huddersfield. They cover many genres of music including: Reggae, Ska, Rock, Pop, Indie, Soul and Funk. They are the perfect choice when looking for professional, fun and energetic live band

The Moot boast an extensive repertoire and have experience playing small intimate venues through to large Festivals and events, The Moot have been performing live together since August 2005.

The Moot will take care of all your musical requirements. Being a self managed band. The Moot will communicate with you directly and ensure that everything is taken care of. If you have any concerns or need any advice you can contact the band directly.

The Moot also run Music Workshops for groups of young people, some with complex needs and older people in care and nursing homes.

The Band use various hand percussion, (For example djembe’s, bongo’s, tambourines, shaky eggs,) some acoustic guitars and sing.
The group sit in a circle, instruments are distributed, The group bang drums, shake percussion, sing songs and most importantly have lots of fun.

If there are any songs/bands/styles that the groups want to play then we try to learn them for the following week’s workshop.

Music workshops are great for everyone, what ever your age, or ability.

Sessions start with a simple rhythm that everyone can join in with, and we develop it. The Group will also sing songs, play an instrument or both.

The Moot currently have enough equipment to run groups for up to 12 people, and are currently looking to increase this, which would give us the ability to run larger workshops for up to about 20 people.

If an organisation or a company have any equipment or access to obtain funding for further equipment for a workshop project, we would be happy to work with your equipment.

The Moot are also looking for support and funding for a 1 year long project for young people in care and young offenders, where by the young people will learn Song writing, how to play an instrument if they want to, and will spend the year working on producing 6 finished tracks, based on topics such as human rights, housing, poverty, house work, Alcohol, the effects of violent crime and many other important topics.
Once the young people have written, and recorded the songs, The aim is that they would then, also have the opportunity to perform life as a band playing the music they have written together over the length of the project.
